REVEREND ERIC D. BELT
Eric D. Belt is the youngest of six children born in Houston, Texas to the union of Deacon Eustace Belt Jr. and Jean Belt. He received his early and secondary education from Sunnyside and Shearn Elementary, Johnston and Pershing Junior High, and graduated from Bellaire Senior High.
In the fall 1981, he entered Prairie View A&M University, graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics, and minored in Computer Science. He was on the Dean’s list, and was listed in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities during his freshman and senior years.
He accepted his call into the ministry in 1987, and immediately entered Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey from which he graduated with a Master’s degree of Divinity.
Pastor Eric D. Belt has been in the ministry for more than three decades. During this tenure, he served in a variety of roles within the ministry of the church. While living in New Jersey, he served as a Christian Educator at the First Baptist Church, Youth Minister at the Monumental Baptist Church, and as an assistant to the Pastor at the Friendship Baptist Church. Afterwards, he transitioned to Houston, Texas where he served as Pastor of the Christian Education at the Holman Street Baptist Church. Finally, before accepting his first Pastoral position, he moved to Kansas City Missouri and served as Youth Pastor at the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church.
Since August 24, 1997, Pastor Eric D. Belt assumed serving as the 5th Senior Pastor in the 94th year of the St. Stephen Baptist Church of Kansas City, Missouri.
He serves as chairman of the Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention of America, Incorporated and International. He has served as President of the General Baptist State Convention of Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska, Moderator of Union District Association, Religious Commissioner of Humans Rights of Kansas City Missouri, chairman of the Metro Organization for Racial Economic Equity aka MORE2, and as an adjunct Professor throughout the Metropolitan Area of Kansas City Missouri. Pastor Belt has served on several Boards of Directors for organizations.
He is highly sought after as a guest preacher and teacher in many areas nationally. He is an accomplished musician and guest lecturer across the nation, and is the recipient of numerous honors and awards.
